In this age group, children are at a high risk of ear and hearing problems through middle ear disease (otitis media). Frequent infections or prolonged periods of middle ear congestion (glue ear) can result in hearing loss as well as speech and language delays. From approximately 5 years of age, most children can complete tests that are routinely used in adults. We adapt the instructions and test procedures as needed to obtain the most comprehensive and accurate information possible.
After careful testing and collecting relevant health and development information, our Audiologists will advise you on best management and make referrals to medical professionals, Speech Pathologists, Child Development Services and other Audiology services as required.
